Registration is open for another BurnP3+ wildfire risk modeling workshop

Based on overwhelming interest and positive feedback from participants after a sold out session last November, the Canadian Forest Service and ApexRMS are cohosting another BurnP3+ training workshop. The upcoming course, Wildfire risk modeling using BurnP3+, will be held in-person at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, from April 28th to the 30th.
This course offers participants a hands-on opportunity to learn the fundamentals of developing and running spatially-explicit wildfire risk models using BurnP3+, an open-source SyncroSim package for simulating wildfire burn probability.
Key topics to be covered include:
- Theory behind wildfire burn probability models
- Configuring model inputs to build wildfire risk models using BurnP3+
- Generating and comparing alternative wildfire risk scenarios in BurnP3+
- Visualizing and sharing model results by publishing BurnP3+ libraries to SyncroSim Cloud
- Using the rsyncrosim R package to script workflows using BurnP3+
Early-bird tickets are available up until February 28th. To learn more about the course and to register, visit our course page. We hope to see you there!
