BurnP3+ and Highlights from the Wildland Fire Canada Conference

ApexRMS is pleased to announce the release of the new BurnP3+ package for SyncroSim made in partnership with the Canadian Forest Service. Together with Dr. Chris Stockdale from the Canadian Forest Service, Leonardo Frid and Shree Senthivasan from ApexRMS presented a sold-out workshop introducing the new package to over 100 attendees at the Wildland Fire Canada Conference, which took place in Edmonton earlier this month.

BurnP3+ is a stochastic fire simulation tool designed to forecast fire risk at landscape scales. It is open-source and built with the goal of involving the fire modelling community in shaping its future direction. BurnP3+ provides support for multiple fire growth models (including Prometheus and Cell2Fire), improves scalability for large simulations, and adds cross-platform support.
