The 2022 Ecological Society of America’s (ESA) Annual Meeting will be a joint meeting with the Canadian Society for Ecology and Evolution (CSEE) on August 14-19 in Montreal, QC, with opportunities to participate virtually. ApexRMS ecologists are participating in numerous workshops, talks, and posters during the conference:

• Workshop – “Forecasting Landscape Change Impacts Using State-and-Transition Models” organized by our collaborator Jim Smith at The Nature Conservancy
• Workshop – “An Ecologist’s Introduction to Transitioning into Data Science” co-lead by Alessandro Filazzola
• Organized Oral Session – “Urban ecosystems in a changing climate” co-organized by Alessandro Filazzola and Scott MacIvor at University of Toronto
• Oral Presentation – “Evaluating multispecies approaches for designing connected protected area networks” presented by our collaborator Amanda Martin at Environment and Climate Change Canada
• Poster Presentation – “Quantifying the effect of changes in land use and land cover on the carbon balance of coastal wetlands in the Mississippi River Delta” presented by Colin Daniel and Bronwyn Rayfield based on ongoing work with wetland and carbon scientists at the U.S. Geological Survey
