The 2022 North American Congress for Conservation Biology (NACCB) will be a hybrid conference with opportunities to participate in-person in Reno, NV, and virtually. ApexRMS ecologists are offering a virtual workshop at the conference entitled Delivering landscape change models to decision-makers using SyncroSim and ST-Sim on Thursday, July 21 from 9:00am to 12:00pm PDT. The theme of the workshop is integrating landscape change into reproducible ecological forecasting workflows and, in turn, delivering these workflows directly to decision-makers. The workshop will cover landscape change modeling concepts, how to use ST-Sim to create simple landscape models, incorporating uncertainty in inputs when making projections, running models, and interpreting results. The workshop will also introduce developing linked model workflows in SyncroSim, including packages to extend the core functionality of ST-Sim to forecast changes in habitat, connectivity, carbon, and other ecosystem services. Registration is open now. Early registration deadline is May 16, 2022.
